Request to Attend a PD Course Offered by Your District

You can request to attend professional development courses offered by your district. When you enter a request, the system sends the request to an administrator for approval. The administrator processes your request and does one of the following:

  • Immediately approves your request and enrolls you in the course section.
  • Immediately denies your request.
  • Tentatively approves your request, waiting until the enrollment close date to determine which staff members to enroll, deny, or wait-list based on need and other reasons.

You are informed of the administrator’s action by email. You can also view the status of your request on the Requests side-tab of the My Info tab in the Staff view.

To enter a request for a professional development course:

  1. Log on to the Staff view.
  2. Click the PDClosed Professional Development tab.
  3. Click the Offerings side-tab. A list of courses you can enroll in appears.
  4. On the Options menu, click Submit Activity Request.   5. Type or click Select Date icon. to select the date.
  6. Click Search icon. to select the PD plan you want to enroll in this course for.
  7. Click Next. Step 2 of the wizard appears.
  8. At the Section number field, click Search icon. to select the course section you want to enroll in. The course identifier and title appear in the appropriate fields.
  9. In the Comment field, type a comment describing your need to enroll in the course.
  10. Click Next. Step 3 of the wizard displays the information you entered for the request.
  11. Click Finish. Your request appears in the Tasks box on the Home page of the person responsible for processing PD activity requests. This staff member approves or denies your request and informs you via email:

For example, the request in the example email is tentatively approved. After the enrollment close date, the administrator analyzes all tentatively approved requests and either enrolls, denies, or wait-lists those requests. Depending on the decision for each staff member’s request, the system sends the appropriate notification email.
